Strong growth and high international significance / Third edition of the Trade Fair for Castings and Forgings with Processing was a total success
The third edition of the Trade Fair for Castings and Forgings with Processing, which was held from 4 to 6 June 2024, generated a very positive mood in the Ceratizit Halle (Hall 3) and Hall 5.
Roland Bleinroth, President and CEO of Messe Stuttgart, drew some positive conclusions: "This year's CastForge was a great success and showed that the industry supports the trade fair in spite of the economic challenges. We are proud that CastForge has become established in Germany and Europe."
Two fully occupied exhibition halls and high international participation
In 2024 the Trade Fair for Castings and Forgings with Processing attracted 491 exhibitors, a substantial increase of 39 per cent compared with the previous event. The amount of exhibition space also increased to 9,654 square metres. The international trade associations agreed about the success of the trade fair.
Marina Giacopinelli, Managing Director of FUNDIGEX, the Export Association of Spanish Foundries, emphasised the following: "The exponential growth in the number of exhibitors and visitors this year was remarkable. CastForge is undoubtedly one of the most important trade fairs for the casting and forging industry, and provides a great opportunity to acquire new customers and strengthen the Spanish sector."
72 per cent of exhibitors came from abroad, a reflection of the international importance of CastForge.
Wilfrid Boyault, Managing Director of the Fédération Forge Fonderie (French professional organisation of metal shaping industries), made the following statement: "CastForge makes the French casting and forging industry very visible on an important market. Over 20 of our companies took part in CastForge, a fact which speaks for itself. The internationality of the trade fair is very valuable for our organisation."
Josef Hlavinka, Managing Director of Svaz sléváren České republiky (Association of Foundries of the Czech Republic), added: "Castings are essential for maintaining industrial development in Europe. CastForge has become a leading European trade fair for the Czech foundry industry and is extremely important for industrial production in Germany and Europe."
Exhibition halls filled with life
A total of 4,286 trade visitors attended this year's CastForge. This represents an increase of more than 20 per cent. Overall, 37 per cent of visitors came from abroad – from 45 countries to be precise. The countries with the most number of visitors were Italy, France, Austria, Türkiye and Switzerland.
Aynur Ayhan, a member of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals Exporters' Association (IDDMIB), stated: "CastForge 2024 was an important milestone for the Turkish casting and forging industry. The trade fair enabled Turkish manufacturers to forge new business relationships, exchange ideas and present products to international visitors. For example, we conducted good discussions with representatives from Germany, Italy, the United States and the United Kingdom."
The Association of Italian Steel Hot Forging Companies (UNISA) has already decided that it wants to increase the size of its exhibition stand in 2026. UNISA President Andrea Redaelli, stated the following: "CastForge 2024 was once again the right place to meet very specialised trade visitors (purchasing department or supplier development) and present our technological potential in a live setting. We want to increase the visibility of companies from Italy and are planning to increase the size of our exhibition stand at CastForge in 2026."
High visitor expertise and satisfaction among trade visitors
The trade visitors were characterised by a very high level of decision-making authority. 84 per cent of trade visitors said they were involved in purchasing and procurement decisions in their company. The overall verdict of the trade visitors was pleasing: they awarded CastForge the mark 1.9. 82 per cent said they would recommend the trade fair to other people.
The next CastForge will take place from 9 to 11 June 2026.
