While leading trade fairs such as EMO in Hannover or IMTS in Chicago are losing significantly in exhibitors and visitors and regional trade fairs are growing slightly, Intertool 2024 in Wels has also successfully confirmed this trend. Intertool has been a traditional brand for trade fairs for the Austrian market for decades – which has further gained in quality with the relocation in 2022 to the heart of Austrian industry in Wels. This is evidenced not least by over 10,000 trade visitors and over 1,000 apprentices.
Boehlerit presented the digital/analog world of machining at a modern booth of over 200 m². Innovations ranging from the smallest Microtec rotary clamp holder systems for internal machining, to our new Drilltec indexable insert drilling systems, our economical milling systems and Boehlerit heavy-duty machining solutions, everything was offered that makes the heart of a machiner beat faster. The daily machining demonstration at an Alzmetall machining centre with the world's highest tooth feed rates during milling aroused great interest among many trade fair visitors.
The combined power of the Steirereck (Boehlerit, TCM, Zeiss, Wikus, TMZ and Dustcontrol) over over 800 m² of exhibition space has developed into a visitor magnet at Intertool. The Steirereckabend at the Steirereck trade fair stands was once again phenomenally attended and is regarded as an industry meeting for trade fair visitors and exhibitors.
While the trade fair duo Intertool welding is developing into a successful performance show, the high double-digit millions of investments up to 2026 in the Wels exhibition centre will continue to benefit the positive development of Intertool. I found the opening of the trade fair very positive by the Federal Minister for Labour and Economy Martin Kocher.
Further growth potential for trade fair visitors lies above all in the nearby southern Bavarian region. According to the worldwide trade fair trend and the trade fair size with three halls, Intertool welding can close its doors at 17.00pm from the point of view of trade fair visitors and exhibitors.
The time of the fair was also very well chosen at the end of April, given the pleasant temperatures in the halls. Here, one has drawn the right conclusions from the often criticized heat during the last issue at the end of May 2022. Intertool 2024 in Wels was very successful for all exhibitors of the Steirereck. We are looking forward to the Intertool in Wels from 21. until 24. April 2026.
