Celebrating the Success of HD Expo + Conference 2024
More than 11,000 total attendees and 600 exhibitors came together for three days of discovery, learning, and networking
(Las Vegas – May 28, 2024) Hospitality Design and its parent company, Emerald, celebrate a successful conclusion to the 2024 edition of HD Expo + Conference. Hosted at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas April 30 – May 2, 2024, the annual show welcomed over 11,000 total attendees, a 10 percent increase from 2023, and more than 600 exhibitors. As the largest single destination for hospitality product discovery in the U.S., HD Expo + Conference showcased manufacturers from 25 product categories, more than 30 conference sessions featuring 150 industry luminaries, special events celebrating some of the best of the industry, and countless networking events both on and off the show floor.
“This year’s HD Expo + Conference was a huge accomplishment both in terms of creating an amazing lineup of events and exhibitors, as well as growth in attendance compared to 2023. The challenge now is to find ways to make next year even better,” says Kevin Gaffney, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Emerald, HD Expo + Conference’s parent company.
“We’re already beginning planning for next year and cannot wait to return to Las Vegas for HD Expo + Conference 2025,” says Stacy Shoemaker Rauen, editor in chief of Hospitality Design (HD) magazine, and Senior Vice President, Design Group, Emerald. “The energy of the show floor, the engaging panel conversations, our sold-out networking events—including the HD Awards and the Women in Design Awards Breakfast—made this event one for the books.”
HIGHLIGHTS FROM HD EXPO + ConFERENCE 2024
Making its inaugural debut in Las Vegas, the 20th annual HD Awards ceremony gathered close to 600 attendees to reveal and celebrate the winners from 150 finalists across 30 project and 13 product categories. The night also celebrated a handful for their innovation and impact on the industry: the 2024 Designer and Hotel Company of the Year Awards recipients, Nicole Hollis and Standard International respectively; the HDAC Awards of Excellence honoree Darius Davie of the Groom Guy; and Stone Resource was given the ISHP Vendor Quality Award. Plus, the night feted this year’s HD/West Elm Student Product Design Competition winner, Ilyra Carlton.
The show’s signature event, the sold-out HD|ISHP Owners Roundtable, connected attendees with more than hotel 35 owners, developers, and brand executives for a series of free-flowing conversations.
The Women in Design Awards celebrated five inspiring women for their creative achievements: Sarah Bonsall of Six Senses; Gulla Jónsdóttir of her namesake firm; My Nguyen of Holland America Line and Seabourn; Staci Patton of Hilton; and Meridith Zimmerman of RLJ Lodging Trust for their innovation, leadership, and career achievements.
