埃森国际邮票博览会(Internationale Briefmarken-Messe or International Stamp Fair)是德国最大的邮票展示与交易会议，也是德国最早的贸易博览会，或此类会议在整个世界上也是最早的，展会上收藏已经分流到鲁尔大都市由近及远，该展自1976年以来一直在埃森展览馆举行，最初每两年举行一次，自2006年以来每年举行一次。每年春天，来自世界各地的100多家经销商、拍卖商、配件制造商和出版商以及邮政管理部门或其代理机构都会在这里聚会，向国内外公众提供他们的商品。有吸引力的配套计划和许多免费服务（如测试）使这项活动成为集邮者的必备活动。

The International Stamp Fair is the oldest trade fair in the world! It has been held at Messe Essen since 1976 - initially every two years, since 2006 annually. In spring, over 100 dealers, auctioneers, accessory manufacturers and publishers as well as postal administrations or their agencies from all over the world meet here every year to offer their goods to the public from home and abroad. An attractive supporting programme and many free services (e.g. examinations) make this event a must for stamp collectors.
Many thousands of visitors from Germany and abroad flocked to Messe Essen from May 25-28, 2023, where Halls 7 and 8 hosted the 33rd International Stamp Fair and IBRA World Stamp Exhibition. The 12,000 square meter event offered everything a collector’s heart could desire. Especially on the first two days, but also on the weekend, the booths of the approximately 110 dealers, auction houses, publishers as well as postal administrations and agencies from all over the world were densely crowded. Sales clearly exceeded expectations, and the vendors were correspondingly euphoric. Classic and modern stamps were in demand, whether individually, in lots or in collections and part collections. The trend towards letters and other covers, which can be used to enrich postal history and thematic collections, was confirmed once again.
A crowd puller was the treasure chamber with the unique Bordeaux letter with a Red and a Blue Mauritius, at which there were waiting times. Also on display were legends of German philately such as the letter with the Baden misprint, the unique first day cover with the “Schwarzer Einser”, the first German stamp, or two “Hepburn” stamps, the most expensive modern stamp in the world. The small exhibition of the Germania definitive series from 1900 with unique designs and proofs also attracted visitors.
The great interest in the more than 600 exhibited collections from 70 countries was striking. Rarely were so many visitors seen at the frames, studying the exhibits in detail, taking notes and photographing pages and pages. The desire to learn more about the hobby and individual collecting areas was also reflected in the nearly 70 information booths of the study groups, the generous reading and literature area, and the associations’ advisory booths.
For young collectors, there was a large area with games and activities. In the popular stamp pool, one could search for stamps from all over the world free of charge. Beginners were given a basic set of album, tweezers and stamps to start collecting.
