SicherheitsExpo Munich celebrates successful anniversary event
For the 20th anniversary of SicherheitsExpo München, the focus was on current topics ranging from IT security to access control. Around 2,500 visitors came to the MOC Munich over the two days of the event, where 100 exhibitors presented the latest information, innovative solutions as well as products and services relating to IT security, the protection of critical infrastructures, locking systems, access controls, drone technology, fire protection, hazard detection technologies and perimeter protection.
Munich - Henning and Thilo Könicke have been the new managing directors of trade fair organiser NETCOMM since 2022 and draw a positive balance for SicherheitsExpo 2023: "We are very pleased to have been able to host SicherheitsExpo for the first time and to close it with a positive balance after two days of the trade fair. The great visitor interest has made it clear that the topics of SicherheitsExpo are still highly topical even after 20 years and that the new thematic areas and workshops hit the nerve of the times. We would like to expand the professional range even further in order to make the fair attractive for further visitor target groups."
One focus of SicherheitsExpo 2023 was on the highly topical subject of IT security, which is becoming increasingly important for companies of all sizes and orientations. Thus, on the second day of the trade fair, a cybercrime workshop took place for the first time, organised by the ICT industry association BITKOM together with the LKA Bavaria. The parallel "IREM" workshop was already fully booked in advance, in which the Institute of Rescue, Emergency and Disaster Management Würzburg provided information on "Technology as part of security in and for companies".
Positive balance for SicherheitsExpo 2023
The vast majority of the 100 exhibitors at SicherheitsExpo 2023 were very satisfied with this year's event, and many have already made firm plans to participate again in 2024. Project Manager Dieter Apprich held numerous talks during the fair to set the course for SicherheitsExpo 2024: "Special thanks go to the 100 exhibitors, some of whom have been loyal to the fair since its early years. Through the varied presentations and technical contributions in the forums, SicherheitsExpo was once again an important platform for networking and personal exchange on the topic of security."
Most of the visitors to SicherheitsExpo came from Bavaria, but also from neighbouring federal states, Austria and Switzerland. The visitors came from various sectors, such as security systems, security services, security and fire protection technology, IT security, but also industry, electrical engineering, engineering offices and planners as well as public authorities and institutions. Visitors were particularly interested in access control and video surveillance, but also in fire protection, IT security and drones. As patron of SicherheitsExpo München, Bavaria's Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann opened the trade fair in person. Professional support for the trade fair programme was provided by industry associations such as the Federal Association of the Security Industry (BDSW), the Bavarian Association for Security in Business (BVSW), the Federal Association of Security Technology (BHE) and the Association of European Security and Key Specialist Shops (interkey).
For 20 years now, SicherheitsExpo has annually presented current solutions that protect companies, private individuals and the public sector from criminal attacks from inside and outside. The offers are also aimed at representatives of industrial plants, banks, clinics, transport companies, trade, railway stations, airports, museums and authorities. In the high-calibre conference programme, forward-looking security technologies were demonstrated and discussed.
The next SicherheitsExpo will take place on 26 and 27 June 2024 at the MOC Munich. The organiser is NETCOMM GmbH, a company of the AFAG Group.
